Caribbean Stud Poker - Game play
Like in games of stud poker, you begin by placing an
ante. The amount of this bet is set by the rules of
the table at which you are playing.
The dealer then distributes five cards to everyone,
including himself. There are no draws, so what you get
dealt is what you play. The only decision you have to
make is whether or not your hand is likely to beat the
dealer.
If you are confident of beating the dealer, you can
call to stay in by placing an additional wager. The
call bet is placed in the ante box and must be double
the original ante. After the call bet is placed, cards
must be positioned to the left of the bet box. If you
think your hand is a loser, now is the time to fold
and save yourself money.
After all players have made there betting decisions,
the dealer exposes his own cards, providing they are
qualified, all players are paid the relevant amount.
If the dealers hand is not qualified and you made the
call bet, you automatically win your ante bet at even
money, and your call bet is returned to you.
If you proceed to win, you will be paid in accordance
with a basic bonus pay-table. The better your hand the
higher the payoff, and if you invest in the optional
progressive side bet and draw a royal flush (dream on)
you will win the progressive jackpot.
A straight flush wins ten percent of the amount on
the progressive meter, while a lesser hand such as four
of a kind, a full house or a flush will be paid a fixed
bonus between £50 and £500. Caribbean stud,
as you can see, is a game based on bonus payouts. In
fact the two chances for collecting a bonus payment
for each hand are the major attraction for most players.
